Hopping the Burlap Bandwagon, Wedding and Party Ideas

Welcome to the burlap bonanza where I’ve found tons of fun burlap ideas and decor for just about everything. Yes, I am completely packing my bags and hopping on the burlap bandwagon. For those who have been living under a rock, burlap is everywhere and not just functioning as a old dirty bag from the farm. It’s taken on a new shabby chic and dare I even say, fresh and sexy way to dress up parties, weddings, and even your house. Here are some great ideas and ways people have utilized burlap to create something cheap and charming with a rustic twing. When I was looking for cute ideas myself I found so many that I think I will split this up into several different posts. So, first and foremost I’ll start with party and wedding ideas! Here goes…

Fun Burlap Lighting for a Summer Wedding

I’m going to stop on this picture to say, I seriously love the lighting idea and I want to use it on my porch just because it is awesome. I feel pretty confident that draping burlap over the large bulb string lights would make my porch way cooler than the average Joe’s around me. Who wouldn’t want to hangout under that?

If you’re looking for an inexpensive way to decorate outdoors, for a simple summer party or a shabby chic wedding, look no further than a good old fashion mason jar! I was thrift store shopping yesterday and found about ten mason jars for 49¢ each. It would have been quite a steal if I had realized the charming possibilities that those jars had. I will have to go back now that I’ve discovered their value. Here are several cheaply charming and shabby chic ideas I’ve found using mason jars.

Creatively Crafty and Cheaply Charming Ideas

Here I am, Kendall Holmes, a twenty one year old finishing college, who is interested in all things creatively crafty and cheaply charming. Over the last few years I’ve been saving home projects, design tips, and dreaming of the day I’d be putting them to use and getting to writing about it. Well, I finally came to the conclusion that there is no reason I should wait to share these things with the world and begin my budget blogging expedition. Here I come guys! I hope you’ll join me in my continuing journey from young college grad to wife, and eventually to mother one day.

There are many areas of money saving tips that tickle my fancy. You can expect anything from fabulous party decoration ideas for the thrifty woman, to simple day to day ideas for the girl just trying to make life a little easier. I have been pleasantly surprised how creative people are when all they have to work with are household items and $20. My roommates and I love to entertain, and as college students we understand what living on a budget really means. Also, to quench my DIY and decorating obsessions, I will post elegant and charming ways to revamp furniture as well as simple crafts that make for great gift ideas. I also plan to actually execute many of the ideas I have found, myself. It’s only a great idea if it works, right? Who doesn’t love a good before and after? I can’t wait for your feedback, so do let me know if you have suggestions or comments!
